Hello, my name is Maia and I am a female golden labrador. I was born in Upton on the Wirral on the 31 October 2017 where I lived with my mother, brothers and sisters until I moved to Whalley on the 6th January 2018 when I was nearly 10 weeks old.
Upton is near Liverpool and so I think I might be called a scouser, although as it’s only near Liverpool the jury might be out on that. I want to be a scouser though so until someone tells me otherwise that is what I will be. Just so you know, the name comes from Scouse which is a type of lamb stew which was eaten by sailers in the docks. In fact it is still eaten by lots of people in Liverpool, except me of course, who was never offered any during the whole 10 weeks I lived there.
As I’m apparently a pedigree labrador I have a posh name too. This is Estuary Shooting Star, but don’t worry you don’t ever need to call me that as I will always be Maia. I was named after a star in the constellation Taurus, hence the importance of the “i” in the spelling. Don’t ever think of spelling it with a “y” ‘cause I won’t answer to it!
So now I live in Whalley in Lancashire. I have a comfy bed, a big garden to play in, horses in the field to bark at and lots of people to play with. I don’t miss my brothers and sisters as they left home before me, although I do wonder sometimes where they are and what they are doing…
This website is all about me and my travels – and I travel a lot aboard our boat in Europe. You can also read about my experiences growing up before I set out on my first overseas adventure. You’ll find these in the experience and travel sections of the site so do take a look and let me know what you think.
