Hi, my name is Maia and I am a golden Labrador puppy. My posh name is Estuary Shooting Star but I will always use my everyday name of Maia. I am named after a star in the Taurus constellation hence the importance of the “i”. Never think about spelling my name with a “y” as I won’t answer to it!

I was born on the 31 October 2017 in Upton on the Wirral, which I think may just about make me a scouser (although the jury might be out on that). As I didn’t actually know what the word meant or where it came from, I got my new owner to look it up. A scouser is someone from Liverpool (hence I might not be a real one) and the name derives from scouse which is a type of lamb stew eaten by sailors all over the world. It reflects Liverpool’s German and Scandinavian connections and the importance of life at the docks. I believe the name comes from Norway. I like the idea of lamb stew, but I don’t suppose I’ll have much chance of ever tasting any!

Over the next year I am going to write about my experiences growing up and travelling abroad. I believe I am going to travel a lot once I get my passport.
